TEACHING AND LEARNING COORDINATOR
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As per Victorian Government’s Guidelines, Regional Victoria has moved to remote learning for this term. You can help your child to learn from home by working, monitoring and supporting your child as they undertake the activities provided by their teachers.
How Can You Support Your Child?
You can support your child by:
- having a routine and setting expectations
- making sure your child has a quiet space to work in
- providing a level of supervision suitable to your child’s stage of development
- monitoring communications from teachers
- checking in with your child often to help them manage and pace their work
- monitoring how much time your child is spending online
Your Child's Responsibilities During Remote Learning
You should change these responsibilities according to the age and stage of your child. Your child's responsibilities include:
- regularly monitoring digital platforms for announcements and feedback from their teachers
- doing their best work by completing tasks with integrity and academic honesty
- doing their best to meet timelines and due dates
- communicating openly with their teachers and telling them if they have any concerns or issues
- continuing to abide by their school’s behaviour guidelines
Online Assessments
This term’s assessments will be completed online, and students need to follow the guidelines below to make these assessments successful.
- Students are required to submit all their assessments, via the online platform (MyEdOnline) advised by the Subject Teacher.
- All submitted tasks should be the student’s own work. Students must not cheat or assist other students to cheat, including taking any action that gives or attempts to give them or another student an unfair advantage.
- For assessment that are completed during class time, all students are required to have their cameras on. It is the responsibility of the student to connect to the Zoom meeting with a device that has a camera working.
- Some assessments may require submission of a video or still image of student’s work. It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that their video is playable with audio or the image is clear.
Thank you for your cooperation and ongoing support during these hard times.
Mrs. Amninder Malhi
